Read the transactions in a QuickBooks Desktop .iif file as a table: one row per transaction, with date, name, amount, memo and number.

Converted in your browser. Your file is never uploaded.

No file handy?

Nothing uploaded

Files are read and converted in your browser, on your device.

Amounts checked to the cent

Opening + transactions = closing, and each running balance. Dates and currency are confirmed with you.

Fix before you export

Edit any date, description or amount, flip a sign, drop a line.

How to convert IIF to CSV

  1. 1

    Drop the IIF file

IIF files are read as they are: dates, payees, memos, amounts and IDs.

  2. 2

    Review the transactions

Edit a date, a payee or an amount, flip a sign or delete a line before converting.

  3. 3

    Download CSV

Pick the date format you need in Export settings. Any other format is one click away too.

Which lines are read

Each transaction’s TRNS line, the bank or card side. The SPL lines are the other side of the same entry and are left out so nothing is counted twice. List-only IIF files (accounts, customers) have no transactions to convert.

The formats

IIF
Intuit Interchange Format, QuickBooks Desktop’s tab-separated import file, imported with File › Utilities › Import › IIF Files. QuickBooks Online doesn’t read IIF.
CSV
Comma-separated values: a plain-text table that every bank, spreadsheet and accounting app can read. Banks’ CSVs differ in column names, date order and whether money out is negative or in its own column.

IIF to CSV Converter: FAQ

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion runs in your browser: the file is read on your device and the download is built there too. It never reaches our server, so we can’t see it, keep it or lose it.

Is it free?

Yes, while BankToRows is in beta: no sign-up and no page limits.
