How to convert QBO to Excel

  1. 1

    Drop the QBO file

QBO files are read as they are: dates, payees, memos, amounts and IDs.

  2. 2

    Review the transactions

Edit a date, a payee or an amount, flip a sign or delete a line before converting.

  3. 3

    Download Excel

Pick the date format you need in Export settings. Any other format is one click away too.

The formats

QBO
QuickBooks Web Connect. A .qbo file is an OFX bank download that also carries Intuit’s ID for the bank (INTU.BID). QuickBooks Desktop imports it under File › Utilities › Import › Web Connect Files; QuickBooks Online takes it in its Upload transactions screen.
Excel
An Excel workbook (.xlsx) with real dates and numbers, so sorting, filters, SUM and pivot tables work straight away. It also opens in Google Sheets, Numbers and LibreOffice.

QBO to Excel Converter: FAQ

Is this for .qbo files or for QuickBooks Online data?

For .qbo files, the Web Connect downloads banks provide. To get data out of QuickBooks Online itself, use Export to Excel on its reports.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion runs in your browser: the file is read on your device and the download is built there too. It never reaches our server, so we can’t see it, keep it or lose it.

Is it free?

Yes, while BankToRows is in beta: no sign-up and no page limits.
